"You want to go, but you can't step in alone." This adult night walk takes you safely and deep into Kabukicho, Asia's largest entertainment district, accompanied by a guide who truly knows the neighborhood.
We begin at the site of the legendary Robot Restaurant. Slipping through alleys glowing with neon, we ascend to the observation deck of the Tokyu Kabukicho Tower, opened in 2023, where the lights of the streets you just walked spread out beneath your feet. The surprising origin of the Godzilla Head, the current state of Toyoko, the money that drives host club culture, and why Kabukicho is called a "safe danger zone" — we unravel the neighborhood's true face, the one the news never shows, step by step.
In the second half, we leave "Memory Lane" for backstreets where the glow of the signs never reaches. Ducking under the noren curtain of an izakaya loved by local regulars, we toast with freshly fried kushikatsu and an ice-cold highball. The sizzle of the fryer, the aroma of the skewers, laughter drifting over from the next table — this is Kabukicho alive and unfiltered, the side no guidebook will ever show you.
