We begin at the site of the legendary Robot Restaurant. Slipping through alleys glowing with neon, we ascend to the observation deck of the Tokyu Kabukicho Tower, opened in 2023, where the lights of the streets you just walked spread out beneath your feet. The surprising origin of the Godzilla Head, the current state of Toyoko, the money that drives host club culture, and why Kabukicho is called a "safe danger zone" — we unravel the neighborhood's true face, the one the news never shows, step by step.

In the second half, we leave "Memory Lane" for backstreets where the glow of the signs never reaches. Ducking under the noren curtain of an izakaya loved by local regulars, we toast with freshly fried kushikatsu and an ice-cold highball.
